Shooting suspect arrested in Algonquin Highlands

According to the Toronto Police Service, a man allegedly implicated in the playground shooting of two girls in Toronto in June was arrested in Algonquin Highlands on Thursday night.
A media release states the man was arrested in the area of Stanhope Airport by members of the Haliburton Highlands OPP.
Tarrick Rhoden, 23, of no fixed address, according to the release, has been charged with a total of 17 crimes, including attempted murder; two counts of aggravated assault; two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle; discharging a firearm with intent; two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm; two counts of possession of a firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized; two counts of possession of a loaded restricted firearm; possession of a prohibited device (over-capacity magazine); conspiracy to commit an indictable offence; possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking; possession of a Schedule I substance; and possession of the proceeds of crime.
On June 15, a first suspect in the shooting was arrested by police. They are still on the lookout for a third suspect – T’Quan Robertson, 23, of Toronto, who is described as five-foot-eight, and weighing 130 pounds. He is wanted for discharging a firearm with intent, attempted murder and two counts of aggravated assault, and is encouraged to surrender himself to Toronto police.
Rhoden was scheduled to appear in court at Old City Hall in Toronto at 10 a.m. on Aug. 23.
On June 14, Toronto police responded to a shooting in the McCowan Road and Alton Towers Circle area. It is alleged that a man opened fire on another man who was in the park. There were 11 children playing in the park at the time, and two of them, girls aged five and nine, were struck by bullets. Neither suffered life-threatening injuries.
